It was not until 1894 that the company took the name of Omega, in reference to the caliber Omega 19 lines produced the same year. The brand is present since 1909 in the sports timing especially during the Olympic Games summer and winter. During the Second World War, Omega, despite economic difficulties remains the largest supplier of watches in the British Air Force. Omega watches continue to be broadcast in the aeronautical field until the dedication in 1969, when the Speedmaster chronograph, on the arm of American astronaut Buzz Aldrin, lands on the Moon. From the small counter to the current luxury brand, Omega's story is spectacular between innovations, crises and big challenges. Turned from its beginnings towards the innovation and the design of extremely powerful watches, Omega has spearheads reliability and functionality.
