They are actively engaged wherever people in wealthy Switzerland are affected by poverty: families, single parents, the unemployed, and the working poor. Caritas looks after asylum seekers and refugees, and organises volunteer placements.
Les Cartons du Coeur lends a helping hand to people going through difficult times or in a precarious situation. To bring them assistance, 2 to 4 times a year, they distribute free packages, which contain basic food items, as well as necessary toiletries and household products.
In Switzerland, around 300 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every year, more than half of them are infants and children under the age of four. Even though 4 out of 5 children can now be cured, statistically that still means that one child dies almost every week. Together with its member organisations, Childhood Cancer Switzerland is dedicated to improving the situation of children with cancer, their families and long-term survivors throughout Switzerland.
The Solyna Foundation supports children who are victims of trafficking and sexual abuse in Cambodia. Active since 2013 and composed of a team of volunteers, it collaborate closely with AFESIP, her partner in Cambodia, which organizes the prevention, rescue, hosting in center, care, schooling and reintegration of victims. Since it started, Solyna has participated in helping hundreds of children and young women and offering them a better future.
J’aime ma Planète is a Swiss not-for-profit association with public utility status committed to the protection of the environment and the transition towards a sustainable lifestyle. Through its educational projects such as Eco-Schools and Young Reporters for the Environment, the association engages young people in building a more sustainable world.
