With the Stratoliner Gravity Black, Fortis introduces the first-ever DLC-coated case in the Stratoliner series – a new benchmark in toughness, legibility and design clarity. Crafted for those who move ahead of their time, with the same clarity and purpose that defines their path. Every detail engineered to withstand extremes – and remain unwavering when it matters most. The case is milled from recycled stainless steel and surface-treated in matte graphite black DLC. This specialised coating reaches a surface hardness of up to 4500 Vickers – nearly 20 times that of standard stainless steel – setting a new benchmark for resilience. Paired with a smoked sapphire caseback, antireflective coatings and the sleek Orbit Bezel the design is focused entirely on performance, stealth and mission-readiness. At the heart of the Gravity Black ticks Werk 17 – the Fortis column wheel chronograph developed in collaboration with the Swedish Space Corporation. Tested during high-altitude launches, re-entries and impact landings, the calibre has proven itself in harsh space conditions. With a 60-hour power reserve, day-date function and COSC-level precision, Werk 17 is built to deliver under extreme conditions. The stardust-textured dial features unique space-travel markers. Black metallic hands with Superluminova® X1 ensure legibility in any environment – from cockpit to stratosphere. The integrated performance strap – a blend of FKM rubber and high-resistance textile – offers both comfort and resilience. Secured with a DLC-coated pin buckle, it’s engineered for reliability through movement, friction and pressure.
