More about Chopard

Founded in 1860 and taken over in 1963 by the Scheufele family, Chopard has remained a completely independent family business until today. Renowned for its jewelry, watches and precision chronometers, Chopard has seduced the greatest. In 1860, Louis-Ulysse Chopard set up his first workshop in Sonvillier, Switzerland. Influenced by Russia's aesthetic of the tsars, it presents richly ornamented watches and stands out quickly thanks to neat pocket watches, ultra-thin and high precision, marketed in Europe and especially with Tsar Nicholas II. Seduced, its clientele increases and almost a century later, the company is bought by Karl Scheufele, heir to a dynasty of goldsmiths-German watchmakers. However, managing and developing a company like Chopard could not have been done without a precise and rigorous ethics. Over the years, six family values, based on family spirit, have emerged. Equipped with a code of ethics, nourished by common sense and loyalty, Chopard has been built with confidence over the years. Today, it is one of the major manufacturers that believe in the possibility of shining outside the big luxury groups. Aware of the industrial stakes of independence, in 1996 it sets up workshops to produce its own mechanical timepieces. Attached to its traditional values, it nevertheless projects itself with ease into the future.
