Guide The Hottest New Watches 2021 - Part 2

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona avec cadran météorite

Some of the latest watch releases that made our hearts skip a beat. There are so many exciting new timepieces coming out this year that we just had to share some of our favorites with you.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona with Meteorite Dial

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona avec cadran météorite

Rolex recently unveiled a trio of Cosmograph Daytonas featuring meteorite dials. Just the idea that a watch can have a component that is around two billion years old gives us goose bumps. It puts time into perspective somehow.

Meteorites are very difficult to work with, making them rare in the watch industry. But meteorite dials are highly appreciated for their other-worldly structure, called Widmanstatten patterns, that make no two dials the same. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph models come in a choice of white gold fitted with a black Cerachrom bezel and an Oysterflex bracelet, or in yellow gold or Everose gold with matching gold bracelets. In terms of the movement inside, it is Rolex’s 4130 chronograph that is precise to -2/+2 seconds per day.

Patek Philippe In-Line Perpetual Calendar, Ref. 5236P

Putting the date on a wristwatch is nothing new, with an array of different design solutions to show the day of the week, the date, and the month. But one of the hardest things to do is to put all this information on one line, like it would be on one of those old desk calendars. Many have tried, few have succeeded, that is until now!

The new Patek Philippe in-line Perpetual Calendar, Ref. 5236P elegantly displays the date in this fashion thanks to four rotating disks with one for the day, two for the date (tens and units), and one for the month, all perfectly aligned on the same plane. It sounds simple, but we assure you it is one of the most complicated complications around!

The timepiece debuts in platinum and comes in this beautiful blue dial that also indicates the moon phase at six o’clock, a day/night indicator at eight o’clock ,and the leap year at four o’clock.

Panerai Submersible eLAB-ID

Panerai Submersible eLAB-ID

The Panerai eLAB-ID is not just a hot looking watch, it is a sustainable revolution with the highest amount of recycled material ever used in a luxury timepiece at 98.6%  Its case, dial, and bridges are all made of 100% recycled titanium, while its hands and indexes are enhanced with recycled SuperLumiNova, and its strap is crafted from recycled fabric. Even the movement’s escapement is made from recycled silicon.

As a brand that has diving at its core, respecting the planet and its oceans makes perfect sense. The Submersible eLAB-ID is a message to the whole watch industry that where there is a will there is a way. We hope to see more watches like this in the years to come.

Chopard Happy Sport The First with Julia Roberts

Chopard Happy Sport The First with Julia Roberts

It was impossible to look at the new Chopard Happy Sport The First Collection and not smile as its new ambassador is none other than actress Julia Roberts, whose contagious smile and laugh has been captured on both photo and video for the watch’s new campaign.

Designed by Caroline Scheufele in 1983, the collection is recognized for its diamonds that are set into metal capsules and appear to float across the dial like spinning tops. Twelve new references are being presented in a new smaller size and are available in sustainable steel or ethical gold…in case you needed another reason to fall in love with them!
