More about Tissot

The company was founded in 1853 in the city of Le Locle, Switzerland, under the leadership of Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son, Charles-Émile. Eager to create a veritable empire of watchmaking, the two men quickly surround themselves with a team of technicians and engineers to develop innovative products. Since its creation, Tissot has continued to turn to new technologies with the eloquent slogan "Innovator by tradition". In 1930, Tissot merges with its competitor Omega and together create the Swiss Society for the Watch Industry, which will become the Swatch Group in 1985. Omega and Tissot share the market, Omega luxury watches, mid-range products for Tissot. With more than a dozen collections each comprising hundreds of models, the Tissot range is very varied. The vintage also occupies a place of choice in the range of this manufactory rich of a long tradition. The Swiss manufacturer is equally suited to classic mechanical watch lovers. Producing elaborate watches at competitive prices is the desire of Tissot. Few manufacturers offer such an extensive catalog, ranging from mechanical timepieces with a solid gold case to sporty titanium watches powered by solar energy. Tissot also designs watches in unlikely materials such as stone, wood or mother-of-pearl, as if to prove its know-how. More recently, the brand has emerged by offering the first touch-sensitive watch.
