More about Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe enjoys an exceptional reputation and a rare prestige thanks in particular to the constancy of his philosophy. The Geneva manufacturer embodies luxury, tradition and the cutting edge art of watchmaking better than anyone else. The Manufacture is the last independent Geneva watchmaking brand still in family hands. It combines the latest technologies and traditional watchmaking know-how to create its models known to be innovative and prestigious watches. Antoine Norbert de Patek, a Polish soldier who took part in the Polish rebellion against Russian rule, settled in Switzerland. In 1839, he founded with the watchmaker François Czapek "Patek Czapek & Cie". Having different views, Czapek leaves the House and the company becomes "Patek & Cie". It was in 1851 that the company was renamed "Patek Philippe & Cie" with the arrival of the French engineer Adrien Philippe. The latter, creator of watches at Versailles, is also the inventor of the winding system and setting time without a key. The House is gaining its nobility and is quickly propelled to the forefront of the international scene.

The watchmakers of Patek Philippe express all their know-how through mechanical movement of high aerobatics. Patek watches are also pure art objects whose beauty reflects perfection. Complications are highlighted with moon phases, universal time or the power reserve indicator. Since its creation, the manufacture has filed more than 70 patents and many novelties developed by Patek Philippe have inspired many actors in the world of watchmaking. Virtually all of the watch's components are internally designed by the brand, and white gold, yellow gold, rose gold and platinum are more in the spotlight than most other manufacturers.
